GroupHEALTH Benefit Solutions® celebrates the opening of their new corporate headquarters

Surrey, B.C. – GroupHEALTH Benefit Solutions®, one of Canada’s largest and most respected independent employee benefits providers, recently celebrated the opening of their new corporate headquarters in a COVID responsible manner.

The new office building, GroupHEALTH Place, is located at 15315 31st Avenue, South Surrey, in a growing commercial centre. The building is four stories tall and boasts 55,000 sq. ft. of office space, including state-of-the-art meeting and collaborative workspaces, along with an extensive lunch facility, five kitchenettes, a patio deck, and a fully equipped gym. The new headquarters will house all 340 west coast employees who are helping to drive the company’s rapid growth.

The GroupHEALTH Place design concept is based on a journey through an ecosystem. Each floor showcases design details with a modern pallet using nature as a muse – the ocean, coast, coastal rainforest, and mountains. GroupHEALTH worked with local contractors, including Wales McLelland Construction, Brooks Corning, Inform Interiors, Heritage Office Furnishings, Dialog, Contemporary Office Interiors (COI) – and other sub-trades – to build and design their new headquarters.

“GroupHEALTH’s mission is to transform the way Canadians experience benefits, and our new space is meant to inspire and cultivate innovation amongst our team members so that we can continue to support and serve our growing client base,” said GroupHEALTH CEO, Matt Houghton. “Our new corporate headquarters has plenty of break out spaces where employees can safely gather to collaborate and brainstorm or simply get a change of scenery from their desks. Our number one priority is ensuring that our team members’ voluntary return to the office is safe, while making sure that we continue to provide our clients and plan members with uninterrupted service and support. We are confident that this new building will continue to support the growth and well-being of our team members.”

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, GroupHEALTH offices were closed to all but essential on-site team members. GroupHEALTH team members can volunteer to return to the new office, subject to safety standards, or they may take advantage of a “hybrid” office + remote work arrangement. This includes continued flexibility for employees with health or childcare challenges and physical safety measures that comply with provincial public health and safety protocols.

GroupHEALTH is differentiated by its singular focus on delivering client solutions that establish trust and transparency while prioritizing innovative cost containment and value adds to help employers to provide their employees with a cost-effective, comprehensive benefits plan. This combination ensures long-term benefit program sustainability.

GroupHEALTH Benefit Solutions® (www.grouphealth.ca) has acquired or holds a substantial controlling interest in several exceptional Canadian companies, including Disability Management Institute, GroupSource LP, and Manion Wilkins & Associates Ltd.
